Reasons for measurement errors in mixing plants
2023.02.11

Errors in the measurement of concrete mixing plants usually manifest as instability, drift, linear deviation, and other faults in various batching scales during use. These include control software factors and equipment hardware factors, so it is necessary to determine based on on-site conditions.

1、 Human factors

When the operator is batching in the batching machine, the feeding belt conveyor will automatically stop when the material is about to reach the preset value of the weighing hopper. However, at this time, some materials will still fall into the weighing hopper from the air, and the weight of this part of the material is called the drop. To ensure the accuracy of ingredients, it is usually necessary to set a drop value for the material and make corrections. But if the aggregate is dry or wet, the actual drop often differs from the set value, so it is necessary to set up a rain shelter and drainage function to prevent the material from being damp or exposed to sunlight.

2、 Electrical factors

The most difficult problem to deal with in terms of electrical equipment used in concrete mixing plants is actually the measurement problem. When other problems arise, such as a motor or solenoid valve not operating, it is easy to identify the problem by following the circuit after understanding the drawings. Mechanical problems are reflected in the electrical system, such as jamming of the weighing hopper, which can cause the sensor to display zero due to no force, or unstable signals due to external interference.

3、 Material flow error

During the actual weighing process of materials, when the material in the weighing hopper reaches the set value, there may be a certain mechanical delay due to the closure of pneumatic or electric valves, which can cause some materials to rush over due to inertia, resulting in an increase in material usage. This type of measurement error can usually be handled by switching the valve to the stop ratio continuous feeding operation mode when the material in the weighing hopper is about to reach the set value, and starting automatic feeding at the starting point. The setting can be determined based on the allowable range of error and the actual feeding speed.
